House of Meera was born from a love of Indian textile craft and the easy, sun-soaked rhythm of Australian life. Every dress is designed in Melbourne and made in small batches by skilled printers and tailors in India.
Hand screen-printed, one colour at a time
Each of our prints begins as an artwork that is separated into its colours. A fine mesh screen is made for every colour, and our printers lay the cotton out along long printing tables, pulling dye through each screen by hand. Colour by colour, the design builds up until the print is complete.
Because every pull is made by hand, tiny variations in tone and placement are part of the character of each piece — no two House of Meera dresses are exactly alike.
100% cotton, always
We work only in breathable natural cotton — soft voile, crisp poplin and airy mulmul — so our dresses stay cool in the Australian heat and soften beautifully with every wash.
Slow, considered, limited
We produce in limited runs rather than chasing trends. When a print sells out it may not return — which makes every piece a little more yours.
